2012 Play for St. Simeon's Players

E-mail Print PDF

St. Simeon's Players has presented another musical comedy in the spring of 2012 - the 17th production for this troupe of actors under the cast rogue-of-the-railwaycompetent and very patient guidance of their director, Garth Morrill.  This year's production is entitled "Rogue of the Railway or ... Should he Free Her or Knot?" - a mini-musical melodrama by Tim Kelly featuring music by Arne Christiansen and lyrics by Ole Kittleson.  The play is produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service Inc., Englewood, CO.

For the Dessert Theaters held on April 20 and 21, the play opened to a full house on Friday evening and continued with another full house on Saturday evening.  A wide variety of delicious desserts were served at 7 pm and then, the audiences were treated to an entertaining performance of Rogue of the Railway.   The Dinner Theater was held the following weekend - April 28.  The Women's Fellowship and helpers prepared and served a 4-course meal which was enjoyed by everyone.  The warmth of community along with great food, lots of laughs, and wonderful performances by the cast spells out a satisfying evening for all who attended.  Click Read More to see more pictures.

Alternate Service

Bible stories. Praise and Prayer. Fun and crafts.
 easter combined

This is a worship service with a focus on younger children which is attended and enjoyed by young and old alike.

Easter Sunday 2012. The church was full on Sunday morning as we gathered for the celebration of Easter.  The choir, along with Janis Morrill playing the organ and Andy Mason and Katharine Morrill  playing their clarinets led the congregation in a joyful noise to the Lord.  Thanks to the children who participated in the service as crucifer, server, reading the lessons and leading in the prayers.

The next Alternate service will be held on May 13th, 2012 at 8:45 am.  The story for the May gathering is Jesus' Baptism based on the reading in Luke 3: 15 - 23.
On June 10th at 8:45 am, children will be hearing the story of four men who lowered their sick friend through the roof to Jesus.  ( Mark 2: 1 - 12)  You are welcome to join us to worship our Lord.   For more information, please contact Rev. New Childrens' Corner

img 1389A new area for children in St. Simeon's

Church is different than when I was growing up. I can remember the ‘shushes’ of adults as children squirmed and talked in the pews. Only at the right time were they allowed to move, and that was out of the church and into Sunday school – often in a basement room.
